There has been a war of apocalyptic proportions. Very few of the townspeople have survived, mainly women, and only four men. The narrator, one of the women, describes the deplorable living conditions in the aftermath of the war; no water, no fuel and only monstrous rats to feast upon. One night, the central character is awakened by a figure in the shadows that she believes to be her long lost brother peering through her bedroom window. But is this really her brother or one of the killers that is terrorizing the village? Or, could there be another psychotic killer on the loose?

Did she find out who was peeking at her bedroom window?
ReplyDeleteThe author does not give a definitive answer. The reader is left to figure it out on his/her own. There is an interesting twist at the end. Could the heroine actually be the villain?
